The 233-room Danieli is one of the most celebrated hotels in Europe.  It occupies an exceptional prime site on the city’s most famous promenade, directly overlooking the church of S. Giorgio Maggiore and has been operated as a hotel since 1822.

In November 2004, Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, decided to offer for sale by private treaty the Hotel Danieli.

Jones Lang LaSalle Hotels and Deutsche Bank AG acted as an exclusive advisor for Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide.  A Global, highly targeted marketing campaign was initiated securing interest from a variety of international and domestic investors.

On the 19th of May 2005, an agreement was signed to sell the legendary 233-room Hotel Danieli in Venice to The Statuto Group, a prominent Italian real estate holding company, for €177 million.

The deal took four to six months to close and Starwood has entered into a long-term agreement to manage the hotel keeping it a member of its prestigious Luxury Collection.
