JLL's latest Italian Market Perspective looks at the market dynamics during H1 2020

In the first semester of 2020, Italian commercial estate registered a slowdown, with around €3.5 billion of total investment volume registered, down by 29% YoY.

While H1 looks only partially affected by COVID-19, as many deals were originated before the pandemic, the flow-through effects to the real estate market are undeniable and the full impact is yet to be reflected in quarterly performance data. The pandemic is having a huge impact on the way people live and work and uncertainty is now becoming part of the "next normal", as the lenght of the crisis will determine the speed of the recovery.
