Logistics Snapshot Q1 2020
The Logistics Q1 snapshot highlights the key figures and insight for the Italian market
The COVID-19 pandemic will force operators to concentrate on supply chain risk mitigation and resilience. It will accelerate trends already in evidence across the sector prior to the pandemic: increased online penetration rates, expansion of online grocery, omni-channel retailing and the integration of technology into warehousing.
In Italy, the take-up in Q1 2020 reached around 340,000 sqm, a figure slightly up (+4%) than Q1 2019 and in line with the last 5 years average. Geographically, Milan was once again the preferred destination. Logistics investment volumes in Q1 2020 reached around €230 m, a doubled volume compared to the same quarter of the previous year.
