The Office Q2 snapshot highlights the key figures and insight for the Italian market

The global pandemic has undoubtedly pushed us into a global recession and in the short term this will have a direct impact on the office demand. Increased homeworking does not necessarily lead to a lower demand for office space. There are multiple factors which need to be looked at, including density, financial returns, productivity and technology. The function of the office will continue to evolve, accelerating trends which emphasize the importance of collaboration and innovation to the employee productivity.
Regarding Italian investment volumes, the office sector was the most dynamic one, recording 20 transactions and representing the 42% of the volumes with around €1.5 bn. After the record absorption in 2019, take-up recorded a slow down both in Milan and Rome reporting a cautious approach by tenants.
